The hotel is nestled in beautiful Killin, making it a great base to explore the surrounding attractions. The rooms are comfortable but hearing movements from nearby can be a drawback. The service is friendly and accommodating, even though the lack of additional offerings is noticeable. The location is ideal for accessing the amenities of Killin and exploring nearby areas. Dining could use some improvement in terms of timing and presentation. Overall, a convenient choice with some room for enhancement.

The Killin Hotel offers a friendly and efficient service with a fantastic location for exploring the central highlands and enjoying the surrounding hills. The rooms in the ground floor building were functional but lacked natural light compared to the main building, which is rich in history and charm.

I stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The rooms had an en-suite and a TV but needed a blind for privacy. The reception area could use a freshen up. The top-floor room was very small and not as advertised in the adverts or on the TV in the reception area.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms were not as expected and lacked privacy with the frosted glass. The size was very small, but they did have en-suite facilities and a TV.
Service
6.0
The service was a bit hit and miss. While some staff members were friendly and welcoming, there were instances of unprofessional behavior, like talking in the back while customers were waiting to be served.
Location
8.0
The hotel overlooks a river with wildlife, making it excellent for mountain walking. It is centrally located in the village, with easy access to main attractions and very friendly and helpful staff.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was satisfactory. The food was cooked to order and delivered quickly, though some items were greasy.
Facilities

The hotel rooms looked lovely, but unfortunately, my stay was marred by uncleanness. The shower showed signs of mold, the room had dust in multiple places, the bedsheet did not fit properly, broken bottles lay outside the window, and the guttering needed maintenance as it dripped during rain. Despite these issues, the hotel's location above the bar and lounge was of a Travelodge standard.
Rooms

The rooms were nicely decorated but needed better cleaning and maintenance.
Service

Location

The hotel is excellently positioned for exploring the central highlands, Rob Roy Country, biking, hiking, and fishing. However, I did notice some cleanliness issues outside the property.
Dining

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding area, with friendly staff making it a pleasant experience. However, the room had some issues that affected my comfort, and the dining experience left something to be desired.
Rooms
5.0
The room had a conservatory roof that blocked the river view and was small with a noisy contraption fitted to the waste. Additionally, it was not clean and had visible white marks on the black throw.
Service
7.0
The overseas staff were outstandingly friendly and responsive. However, there was a mix-up with our reservation, which was slightly inconvenient.
Location
8.0
The rural location surrounded by hills provided a peaceful atmosphere, although the view of the TV was obstructed by posters on the bed. Nearby amenities and attractions made it a convenient base for exploration.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was not to my liking, with mass-produced and unsatisfying meals. There were issues with the order accuracy despite consistency in our requests.
